Running week

It is once again time to lace up your running shoes for our popular running week this autumn! We are building on a familiar programme and creating the joy of running together with our experienced coaches. Together with our profiles Anders Szalkai and Mustafa Mohamed and 10-15 running coaches, we offer speed groups for all levels. Join us and share the joy of running!

You’ll experience great runs, smart technique tips, fast intervals, useful hill training and fantastic views during the coastal pass. Every day we also meet the sun during the morning jog on the mile-long beach. You will also be offered a wide range of other training such as yoga and various strength and fitness classes.

Monte Gordo offers many measured running trails in the nature reserve, on the beach and along the country roads. Just outside our hotel, a nature reserve begins with undulating forest paths that are perfect for running. The nature reserve is bordered by Monte Gordo to the west, Vila Real de San António and Spain to the east, the beach and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. The mile-long beach is also well suited to running of various types, such as distance, intervals and speed play. The ebb and flow of the river means that the beach is tightly packed and the running experience is further enhanced by the minimal gradient.

It’s not unusual for people who weren’t keen on running before travelling to leave Monte Gordo as enthusiastic runners!

Of course, holiday destinations offer more than just exercise opportunities. Sometimes it’s wonderful to simply relax and enjoy the sun, beach and good food. Why not take the opportunity to rent a bike and explore the area on your own? The area is rich in beautiful natural areas, charming seaside restaurants and a wonderful beach that invites you for long, relaxing walks. We believe in living a balanced life, enjoying the good things in life while promoting health.
