During the Helsinki Marathon, you’ll experience the city from the running route and soak up the fantastic atmosphere along the course.
Whether you are aiming for a new personal best or simply want to enjoy an unforgettable running weekend, Helsinki Marathon 2027 is a race to look forward to.
Choose between the Helsinki Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km or Marathon Relay – a four-person relay where each participant runs 10.55 km, together completing the full marathon distance.

Helsinki is a charming and vibrant city where Nordic design, seaside surroundings and rich history come together. Located on the Gulf of Finland, the city is characterised by its beautiful archipelago, green parks and elegant architecture. Historic buildings and cosy neighbourhoods sit alongside modern design, exciting restaurants and a vibrant cultural scene.
Whether you are planning a weekend getaway, an active holiday or a longer stay, Helsinki offers experiences for every taste and in every season. It is a city where you can easily combine the energy of city life with relaxation, exercise and easy access to nature.
A short walk can take you from lively shopping streets and cafés to parks, beaches and waterfront walking paths. Among the city’s most popular sights and areas are Senate Square with the impressive Helsinki Cathedral, Market Square by the harbour with local delicacies and market stalls, Esplanade Park in the heart of the city, and Suomenlinna, the historic sea fortress located on the islands just off the city. Neighbourhoods such as the Design District and Kallio also offer a wonderful mix of design, culture, restaurants and cafés.

About the Race
Experience Helsinki in your running shoes! Helsinki is a charming seaside capital where Nordic design, history and nature come together. Before and after the race, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the city’s cosy neighbourhoods, enjoy Finnish cuisine or relax by the water and in one of the city’s many green parks.
The Björn Borg Helsinki Marathon 2027 features a single-loop course through central Helsinki, allowing runners to experience both the city streets and beautiful sections along the waterfront. The course starts and finishes at Meripuisto and takes you through central Helsinki on a route that combines urban surroundings with seaside views and fast-paced running sections.
It is a course that allows you to experience Helsinki as you run – from the energy and buzz of the city to the quieter sections along the waterfront. And because the entire marathon is run as one continuous loop, you will discover new parts of the city all the way to the finish line.
The marathon distance is 42.195 kilometres, and the race is organised in accordance with the rules of the Finnish Athletics Federation and World Athletics.

Clarion Hotel Helsinki
Clarion Hotel Helsinki is a modern and stylish hotel located in Jätkäsaari, right by Helsinki’s harbour area. Here, you stay close to the water with easy access to Helsinki’s restaurants, cafés, shopping and attractions. The hotel combines comfortable accommodation with a wide range of facilities, including a fitness centre, saunas and a swimming pool. Clarion Hotel Helsinki is located in Jätkäsaari, in the western part of central Helsinki. The hotel’s location by the harbour area provides easy access to the city and to the race start and finish area.
