Lisbon combines charming cobbled streets with modern culture and grand historical monuments. You’ll find picturesque neighbourhoods where trams meander, colourful facades covered in azulejos, and lively squares where locals gather to enjoy coffee and sweet pastéis de nata. It’s a city for all the senses – for the art lover who wants to explore museums and galleries, for the urban wanderer who wants to get lost in the narrow alleys of Alfama, and for the runner who wants to experience the race along the sparkling waters of the Tejo River.
As a traveller, you’ll experience the best of both worlds: intense running experiences and relaxing days in a city that always offers something new. We’ll take care of all the practicalities – from flights and accommodation to bib distribution and tour management – so you can focus on what’s important: running, enjoying and making memories for life.

Lisbon is the city that captures the heart
Lisbon is a city that enchants with its unique blend of history, culture and modern vibrancy. With its sunny coastal location on the Atlantic Ocean, the Portuguese capital offers a warm climate, friendly people and an atmosphere that keeps visitors coming back time and time again.
The soul of the city is in its picturesque neighbourhoods: Alfama, where cobbled streets wind between whitewashed houses and the smell of grilled fish wafts from small taverns; Bairro Alto, with its lively nightlife and cosy bars; and Belém, home to some of Lisbon’s most iconic monuments, such as the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
No stay in Lisbon is complete without a ride on the yellow tram 28, which takes you up steep hills and through charming neighbourhoods overlooking the Tagus River. From the city’s many miradouros (viewpoints) you can enjoy panoramic views of red roofs, winding streets and sparkling waters.
Lisbon is also a city for bon vivants. Here, the melancholy tones of fado music await in small restaurants, pastéis de nata in traditional patisseries and a cuisine that combines the delights of the sea with robust, rural flavours.
For those who want to explore more, gems like Sintra, with its fabulous palaces, and the seaside resorts of Cascais and Estoril are just a short journey away.

About the race
Imagine starting your half marathon on the iconic 25 de Abril Bridge with the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon and all of Lisbon in front of you. The Lisbon Half Marathon offers a unique combination of fast course, magnificent views and unrivalled crowds.
Standing on the starting line with thousands of runners from all over the world is a powerful feeling. The course is known for being flat, fast and scenic, perfect both for those aiming for a personal best and for those who want to soak up the city’s atmosphere with every step. The race takes you along the sparkling Tagus River, through historic neighbourhoods and to the finish line in the beautiful Belém district, where the Jerónimos Monastery will be a grand finale.
The atmosphere along the route is as warm as the Portuguese climate. The cheers of the crowd, the music and the cheering create an energy that carries you all the way to the finish. After the race, Lisbon is waiting to be discovered – with charming neighbourhoods, winding trams, panoramic viewpoints and a cuisine full of flavours like pastéis de nata and freshly grilled sardines.
The Lisbon Half Marathon is more than a half marathon – it’s a journey filled with inspiration, running fun and memories for life.

Friday 6 March
- 11:35 Arlanda group lands at 11.35, we go directly to Expo, then to the hotel
- The licence plates can be picked up at the Expo during the day. Open from 10am to 8pm
- 19:00 Meeting time
Saturday 7 March
- 08:00 Calm morning jog
- Breakfast
- 10:00 We go by public transport to the Expo and collect the licence plates. Open 10-20
- 18:00 Tour guides are available in the lobby if you have questions and concerns
Sunday 8 March
- 06:00 Breakfast
- 07:00 We go to the train station which is close to the hotel and go to the start of the race.

- The easiest way to get home after the race is to find a taxi. If you want company back, you can look for the letter S in the “Meeting Point” area. If there is no S, gather in the southern part, ie closest to the river.
